| Our
first restoration was Launceston tram Number 29, which was Launceston's
last tram built; the last 3 being drop centre, double bogie trams. It was found in a derelict state, without bogies (or trucks) after having been used as a holiday shack at Port Sorrell and then as a storage shed at a Kelsey Tier property near Devonport, Tasmania. Discovered by 15 year old Marcus Hall in 1992, he had a wish that it could be restored and made to run again. In 1995 with the cooperation of the Launceston City Council and a few other interested people, Number 29 was repatriated to Launceston where some enthusiasts grouped to undertake the restoration. |
